As summer approaches it is important to know how to create the seasons hottest hair trend: beach waves. It can be difficult, but this guide will help you get the perfect hair for summer, whether you have straight, wavy, or curly hair, and if you are actually going to the beach or not!
Bumble and bumble. Surf Spray, $25 |
A good product to try for texturizing spray is Bumble and bumble surf spray, $25 sephora.com
Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls, $22, missjessies.com |
Wavy: Start with day-old locks for a little extra texture. If you want to get tousled waves fresh out of the shower, apply a curl cream, put your hair in a loose bun, let it dry, then touch up any flat sections with a large barrel curling iron. Flip your head upside down, spray all over with a texturizing spray, and lightly scrunch the curls with your hands!
Curly: Blow out your hair with a round brush to straighten your hair out a bit before creating the waves. Apply an anti-frizz serum before you grab your blow dryer, so summer humidity won’t ruin your look. Then, use a medium-sized curling iron to create loose waves and add a surf spray for texture.
Try Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra-Strength Forula, $9, drugstore.com
Marc Anthony Beach Waves spray, $10, amazon.com |
Personally, after I wash my hair I scrunch it with Marc Anthony Beach Waves spray, then, when my hair is still slightly damp, I tie it in a loose bun. Once I take it out...BAM... perfect beach waves!
I recommend that if you aren't happy with your beach waves, watch a couple of youtube videos, they are always super helpful!
